چکیده

This study reports the high prevalence and molecular characterization of BoHV-1 infection in imported cattle with respiratory system disease after international transport. A mortality rate 14.16% (51/360) was reported a group animals from Hungary to Turkey 2019. total 17 samples were evaluated (3 lung tissue 14 nasal swab samples) 15 aged 6 9 months not vaccinated against BoHV-1. Virus isolation, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) restriction endonuclease analysis (REA) procedures performed within scope this study. By virus isolation MDBK cells, cytopathologic effects detected 8 5 swabs samples). The same eight also found positive by PCR targeting gC (UL44) gene region. According sequencing result, sample (ID: 10054) dropped into cluster BoHV-1.1. REA applied confirm results phylogenetic analysis. All isolates identified subgroup BoHV-1.1 REA. These showed risk for possibility entering receiving country via event is serious problem both control as well animal health welfare.

Isolation of Bovine Herpesvirus-1 (BoHV-1) From Latently Infected/Carrier Cattle in Ahvaz

Bovine herpesvirus 1 (BoHV-1) is one of the most important infectious viruses of cattle which is considered as the causative agent of several clinical conditions in this species. Hence, we tried to isolate a local strain of the virus from carrier cattle in Ahvaz based on a strategy for reactivation of the latent infection in hosts having antibodies against the virus. Thus, 20 cattle were examin...

Neutralizing antibodies to bovine herpesvirus types 1 (BoHV-1) and 5 (BoHV-5) and its subtypes.

This study was carried out to determine whether the sensitivity of serum neutralization (SN) tests would be affected by the use of distinct subtypes of bovine herpesvirus 1 (BoHV-1) and 5 (BoHV-5) as test challenge viruses. Bovine sera collected from a randomized sample (n=287) were tested in a 24h incubation SN against three type 1 viruses (BoHV-1.1 strains "Los Angeles" (LA) and "EVI 123"; Bo...

An outbreak of malignant catarrhal fever (MCF), a fatal viral disease in indigenous Tanzanian shorthorn zebu in Ngorongoro district of Tanzania during the period of June 2004 has been described. The disease was diagnosed by clinical, post mortem findings and the virus was identified using molecular characterization study. The history and clinical features included pyrexia, cornel opacity, nasal...

Herpes simplex virus type 1 and bovine herpesvirus 1 latency.

Primary infection by herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) can cause clinical symptoms in the peripheral and central nervous system, upper respiratory tract, and gastrointestinal tract. Recurrent ocular shedding leads to corneal scarring that can progress to vision loss. Consequently, HSV-1 is the leading cause of corneal blindness due to an infectious agent. Bovine herpesvirus 1 (BHV-1) has simi...

Role of bovine herpesvirus type 5 (BoHV-5) in diseases of cattle. Recent findings on BoHV-5 association with genital disease

Bovine herpesvirus type 5 (BoHV-5) belongs to the family Herpesviridae, subfamily Alphaherpesvirinae, genus Varicellovirus. This virus is a major causative agent of non-suppurative meningoencephalitis in young cattle. It was first isolated in 1962 from a neurological disease outbreak in Australia. BoHV-5 is genetically and antigenically related to bovine herpesvirus type 1 (BoHV-1), a highly pr...
